About DMFUG
The DMF Users Group was started
in 2009 to provide a forum for
sites using HPE's Data
Management Framework (formerly
SGI's Data Migration Facility)
HSM software to provide
assistance and encouragement to
each other, and to provide
feedback to HPE.
While we are grateful for the
encouragement and support
provided by HPE and associated
vendors, DMFUG is independent of
those companies and operates
using facilities provided by its
members' employers. However,
staff of HPE and associated
companies are welcome to join as
well.
These facilities include a (low
volume) mailing list with around
110 subscribers, this web-site,
and face-to-face meetings which
are held on a member's premises
approximately once a year. So
far, these meetings have all
taken place in various locations
in Australia, but we'd be happy
to work with anyone who wants to
do something similar in other
geographies. These meetings
provide a level of informal
ongoing DMF training, even for
the more experienced attendees.
Mailing List
To join the list, HPE customers
using DMF and HPE staff should
email
dmfug-request©lists·csiro·au
with the word "subscribe" as
either the subject or the text of
the mail. Alternatively, you can
fill out the membership request
form at

Please don't use anonymous email
addresses like those from Gmail
and Hotmail; we would prefer you
to use your work address if at
all possible.

2014
The last wish-list was voted on
in 2014 and forwarded to HPE/SGI
Storage Engineering. You can see
the voting results
h
ere.
Since then, at least 12 features
requested have appeared by DMF
6.4 (June 2015). A further 10 are
expected to be included in the
new DMF 7 (late 2018).

Meetings
2021
On 24th June (US time), HPE
provided a 90 minute briefing to
members on DMF7 status, futures
and migrations via MS Teams. This
was done twice, once at a
Europe-friendly time and again at
one more suited for the
Asia-Pacific time zones.
Americas-based members joined at
the start or end of their working
day, whichever was more
convenient.
Both recordings are available to
DMF customers and partners from
an FTP site. Please contact
Sergey Shlepakov
(sergey·shlepakov©hpe·com) if you
need the password.
